HeartWood is committed to being a healthy organization. Over the last few years, we have increased our capacity to support our professional core staff through engaging youth team mentors and other volunteers. These individuals, of all ages, come from a variety of backgrounds in education, community psychology, recreation, environmental studies, and international development. The staff team is impressive and their individual skills nurture the highest possible balance between organizational effectiveness, sustainability, professionalism and people-centred policies and procedures. In the process, we have created an ‘organizational culture’ that is based on mutual respect, teamwork, diversity, playfulness, integrity, nurturing growth, and continual learning.

*HeartWood is currently recruiting new board members.  If you are passionate about community and want to make a difference with our organization, please contact HeartWood’s Executive Director, Laura Swaine, at laura@heartwood.ns.ca to find out more how YOU can get involved!
